The reason I suggest playmo as its cheap (ish) to buy
Playmo might be cheap but this SIT ON loco and track cost less than a single OO Pendolino coach, even at Hattons' prices.

certainly looks good :) maybe you could use the idea of making a 'ride behind' playmobil train that way you could have the remote control so the little ones could mess aroudn with it might be posible to wire in 4 batterys in seriers to give it some extra umph vice that wack a car battery in the circuit but be careful you dont blow up the circuit board :P
The reason I suggest playmo as its cheap (ish) to buy and pretty much set track available allmost anywhere :) good luck
Thank you for visiting Model Railway Layouts..

Blackcloud Railways is about to embark on a new venture, and what's more the domestic authorities have given planning permission.

Rhiannon already has a circle of OO track on a sheet of green painted plywood for her Thomas the Tank but the new circular layout will not be on a baseboard and will be jointly owned by her and Charlie (though No.2 sprog is still a bit too young for it at present).

OK, so it won't have scenery, but I'm sure most of us started out with a circle of track on the floor - scenic layouts being a later development - and this one isn't for me... Honest, I might be allowed to watch but the kids aren't going to let me use it.

The loco is an 020 with a two wheeled tender, I doubt that there could be anything less realistic but Rowland Emmett's Far Tottering and Oyster Creek ran at least one 020.

This was spotted while looking for battery and clockwork powered locos to use on another layout. SWMBO, in a surprisingly pro-railway mood said go for it.
