Hi folks,

can I just echo what Bob said, thanks to everyone who voted for Derwent and also to Jack for the organisation of the competition. Thanks to all.

Also, congratulations to Bob and his fine layout Harvey Down, and also to Danny as well with Radclyffe.

As posted in the Members' Day thread, thanks to those who voted for Harvey Down and the the Admin Team, Jack in particular, for organising it. I would like to volunteer to organise the 2012 competition, as yesterday afternoon we discussed doing it again next year, more of that at a later date though.

Thanks go to all who took part in the competion and I hope the project has encouraged some interest in smaller layouts (for which my passion is fairly well known).

(Y)

Must dash now, got to set up the Blackcloud Estate in place of yesterday's pitch and play trains for yet another day... No rest for the wicked!

Thanks Jack for a (small but) great day. Thanks also for letting me lose on your layout, it looks amazing in the flesh.

Hello everyone,

After returning from the members' day today, I was very proud to have seen such a crowd gather to see the winners announced (ok, a crowd of about 6 and they weren't interested), but it was great to see some of the public, though not members, voting and that changed the results!

4 votes were casted by the public, and the winners are as follows:

1st place goes to Bob Hughes with his layout Harvey Down
2nd place goes to Chris Thomson with his layout Derwent Gate and is joint with Danny Burrows with his layout Radclyffe Sidings

A big well done to them, but also to everyone. Each and every single layout is unique, and you've all put a lot of effort into them. Next years competition is to be decided and will be, again, mainly organised by me. Will announce it in December some time.

Thanks everyone to turned up today at Crewe! Was great to meet new people :)

Cheers,
Jack
