Evening everyone,
We've been aware a few of you are wanting to know when the MRL Members' day is going to be. Last year was our first one, where we managed to get several members from the forums down to the Crewe Heritage Centre, and albeit a bit quiet, was a successful day.
However, the Centre is celebrating '175 Years of Crewe' and '25 Years of the Crewe Heritage Centre', and the very useful exhibition hall is now closed until early October due to the exhibition inside being prepared for the events. Our MRL Members' event last year took place in the 2nd week in August, but due to the preparations happening at the centre, we have two things to consider: - If we want to use the Crewe Heritage Centre, then we'll need to organise a date in October some time or November, 2/3 months later than originally planned
- Or, we can look into a venue in Cheshire/Merseyside which we can host our event, be-it part of an exisiting event or as a public event hosted entirely by the MRL forums
The reason we're wanting the venue to be in Cheshire/Merseyside is because of it being quite 'central' for our members. It helps that a lot of our members are from this region, but the fact that the WCML servces frequent services from the North and South, and changing at stations like Derby/Tamworth, allow members to travel by train easily.
If anyone knows of a village/school/exhibition hall in which we can host our event, please send me a PM. I'm going to have a word with the lads at the centre, but if people want it during the summer holidays, then it'll have to be at a new venue.
Our 2013 event will be taking place at the Crewe Heritage Centre as far as I know, but due to the centre being prepared for other events, we cannot use this venue this year.

Hey all!
Well here we go then. This is the start of the reformed competitions.
Although the model one hasn't changed much, the newly named 'Transport' photo of the Month certainly has.
Thank you to everyone who entered last month and well done to oorail on his win for Model photo of the Month.
Entries for this month are now open and can be found at the links below.
Be sure to check up on the rules if you haven't already. I hope to see a whole batch of entries this month, especially for the themed Transport POTM competition.

It has come to my attention that some of the members on the forums, including myself, are encountering problems uploading photos to the forums; both to posts as attachments or into the gallery.
We are currently looking into this problem, and will hopefully sort out what is going wrong soon.
In the mean time, for those suffering with these problems, please can you contact any of the Administration team as this will help with our investigation.

Voting is over for the December POTM. Congratulations to our two MPOTM Winners!
Also, Photo Of The Year is now up as mentioned last month.
Please vote for your top TWO photos of the year. (ONE OR TWO ONLY! Anyone who puts in more than two votes on purpose can and will remove from the voting by me. Keep it fair please. If I could set the voting to automatically only accept two votes, I would. But ah well.

We have just updated your profiles!
Some of the new features we have included for you are:- Increased profile fields (Facebook, YouTube, Flickr etc.)
- Plugs to other sites/accounts (Modelling related is visible from Mini-Profile)
- Custom Profile Background image or colours
Profile Fields:
Click on your username at the top right of the page > My Profile > Edit my Profile (Top right) > Profile Settings
You can add information about yourself, contact methods and information.
Under the Plugs section:
"Plugs" (Plugged URLs) now appear as small icons in your Mini-Profile, next to your posts
Custom Profile Backgrounds:
Click on your username at the top right of the page > My Profile > Edit my Profile (Top right) > Profile Customization
Images of up to 1.5MB can be uploaded.
In other news...
We have shuffled our upload limits around, - Attachment allowance has been reduced to 5MB (from 25MB)
- Gallery allowance has been increased to 60MB (from 50MB)
- Regular users of the gallery may be invited to be a Gallery+ member, with an allowance of 150MB.
Multiple Gallery uploads at the same time can now be done using the "Flash Uploader", choose this while uploading.
Multiple Gallery images can now be posted using the "My Media" link and choosing "Gallery Images" when posting.
